Another fabulous stay at the Garbe
Contribution - Oxfordshire
Trip type: Family
We spent a long weekend at the Garbe before continuing our half term vacation in a Villa.
It is our fourth visit to the hotel, we always comment on it's spectacular position on the beach - the children were keen to get out onto the sand straight from breakfast each morning.
The pool was warm, staff always helpful and friendly especially Reception and the Bar (freshly squeezed orange juice in the poolside bar was amazing).
The evening entertainment gave the adults in our party a chance to spend some grown-up time together after dinner, enjoying great views of the sunset.
Local restaurants provided memorable lunches and a chance to enjoy fresh sardines. Our room was spacious and clean.
Improvements to the road outside the hotel didn't bother us at all as we happily used the beach instead and enjoyed the experience of walking back barefoot in the sand!
All-in-all another fantastic stay, thanks to all at the Garbe.

"A very memorable stay................”
It is always nice to receive reviews such as this:-
I stayed at the Hotel Garbe with my fiance, and our little boy, as well as my mum, dad, and 2 brothers for a week starting 21st May 2009. To start with the weather wasn't all that good, but after a couple of days it just got better and better.
The hotel staff were very helpful, and the two small problems that we did have were sorted very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff at reception even opened the shop especially for us.....
Our room was a nice size, even though we had an extra bed for our little boy. It was very clean, and tidy. The balcony was also a good size, plenty big enough, and the view, well how can I describe it? Breathtaking!
The hotel is situated very close to the restaurants, 3 of which we went to more than once. The improvements taking place outside the hotel weren't really a problem for us. It was fairly easy to avoid the wires, pipes, and holes! The work is due to be completed by 10th June, and to be honest I think it will be. There were always men doing work, sometimes late into the evening.
All in all, our stay at the Hotel Garbe was very enjoyable, and the service second to none. I can't wait to go back!

Thank you for your great review
Total Enjoyment and superb hospitality!”
Our stay at the Hotel Garbe was absolutely fantastic. The quality of the room, restaurant, bar and pool are excellent.
The view from the balcony was quite spectacular. Overlooking the endless sandy beach as it is lapped by the clear blue water of the Atlantic Ocean.
This was my 6th visit to the Garbe and the service has never been anything less than excellent. The staff are always polite and will do anything they can to assist you. It was the Saturday afternoon before I was due to fly home on the Monday and I suddenly got the urge to play golf on Sunday. Thinking I had left it too late to arrange anything I expected the worse when I popped into reception on the remote chance I could get a knock the following day. Within 5 minutes my tee-off time was booked.
I arrived at the course on Sunday to find the whole thing had been arranged for me. The staff had faxed a voucher to the course in order for me to get the discount I was entitled to whilst staying at the hotel. The cost was simply put to my room so I didn't have to worry about taking any cash with me. I just turned up and played!!
If you are reading this considering booking a group golf break, family holiday or just a romantic break for two, you will, in my opinion not go far wrong staying at the Garbe.
If you like a curry the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel is very good indeed. If you do not like curry you need not worry. There are no traces of spicy food odour at all.
Jane (Management), Helen (golf desk) and Claudia (reception) are just some of the staff I have come to know. Returning is like going away to meet up with old friends.Dave (Sketch) Faulkner

May Competition Winner
Our congratulations to Mr. Steve Crohill - the winner of our May competition. Mr. Crohill correctly answered that the name of our Bar is Bar Boa Vista, and was the first entry drawn he has won a weekend for two people in the Hotel Garbe.
Thank you to everyone that entered.
